You're Finally Awake!

You're Finally Awake!

This project was made as for a class with the intention of creating my own interpretation of the Medea myth, as inspired by David Vann's Bright Air Black. My concept was to take a Norse twist on the greek myth, as I love a lot of the symbolism within the culture, and merge it with the idea that Medea, Jason, and the Argonauts have already died on their journey, and are sailing through purgatory on their way to Helheim. Medea, ever idolizing the goddess Hecate, struggles to accept the crew's demise and has intermittent visions of reality and what the crew refuses to acknowledge.
